The Opportunity

We are seeking an industry-leading Senior Planner/Scheduler (Level IV) to spearhead project controls for high-complexity, multi-year major projects. In this role, you will act as the definitive subject matter expert, utilizing expert-level Primavera P6 skills and practical field experience to drive project success. This is a high-visibility position responsible for ensuring that massive capital investments are planned, tracked, and mitigated against risk with surgical precision.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule Strategy & Development: Create and maintain highly complex, integrated project schedules that align with overarching corporate objectives for multi-year major projects.

  • Earned Value Management (EVM): Implement and oversee EVM methodologies, ensuring the accuracy of Schedule Performance Index (SPI) reporting and the integrity of Earned Value curves.

  • Contractor Integration: Ensure all third-party contractor plans and schedules are rigorously prepared and integrated according to strict company standards and contractual requirements.

  • Progress & Forecasting: Coordinate weekly and monthly schedule updates, capturing actual progress to forecast remaining durations, critical milestones, and final completion dates.

  • Risk Mitigation & "What-If" Analysis: Apply field-based knowledge to identify potential schedule bottlenecks; perform advanced "what-if" simulations to assess the impact of various scenarios and develop formal recovery schedules.

  • Advanced Reporting: Proactively communicate schedule status, risks, and mitigation strategies to Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Project Control Leadership using Power BI and other visualization tools.

  • Process Excellence: Recommend industry best practices and ensure all standard procedures for project planning and scheduling are implemented across the project lifecycle.

Professional RequirementsMust-Haves
  • Education: Post-secondary education in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.

  • Experience: 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in project planning and scheduling, specifically within large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.

  • Software Expertise: Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6, with additional experience in Power BI, EcoSys, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Technical Mastery: In-depth expertise in WBS development, resource coding, and the integration of complex data sets into a master schedule.

  • Independence: Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously with a minimum level of supervision.

Nice-to-Haves
  • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) credential is highly preferred.

  • Field Experience: Practical, hands-on field experience in construction or engineering environments to better inform schedule logic and recovery plans.
