About the role
Insight Xcite is seeking a Data Engineer / Data Scientist to support mission-critical operational and enterprise environments within the Intelligence Community. This role involves developing and maintaining data pipelines, analyzing complex datasets, and supporting data-driven mission and operational initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and technical skills, experience working with large-scale data environments, and the ability to transform data into actionable insights supporting customer missions. Compensation is determined based on experience, technical expertise, certifications, mission requirements, and overall alignment with customer and contract needs.
What you'll do
- Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and workflows
- Analyze structured and unstructured datasets to support mission and operational objectives
- Support data integration, transformation, and visualization initiatives
- Develop scripts, queries, and automation supporting data processing activities
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and operational stakeholders
- Support cloud-based and enterprise data environments
- Troubleshoot and resolve data quality and performance issues
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and reporting solutions
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP)
- Minimum 6 years of experience supporting data engineering, data science, analytics, or related technical environments
- Experience working with SQL and large-scale data environments
- Experience with Python, R, or similar analytical/programming languages
- Experience with data transformation, ETL, or pipeline development
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting enterprise or mission-focused environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms and environments
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools
- Experience supporting Intelligence Community or government customers
- Familiarity with machine learning or predictive analytics concepts
- Experience with automation and scripting tools
- Relevant technical certifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
The pay range for this role is:
180,000 - 240,000 USD per year(Government Client Site – Herndon VA)
