Referral Specialists play a vital role in helping patients access the specialty and follow‑up services they need. This role supports continuity of care by ensuring referrals are processed accurately and in a timely manner while serving as a key communication link between patients, providers, and internal and external healthcare partners. This role helps reduce barriers to care and supports smooth clinic operations.

Position Highlights:
1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)
$19.39-$23.76/hour DOE with the ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates
Additional pay for your bilingual skills, paid on hours worked

What You’ll Do:
Manage referral work queues to ensure timely processing and completion
Coordinate internal and external patient referrals and schedule follow‑up appointments as needed
Assist with insurance authorizations and ensure required documentation is complete and accurate
Maintain referral tracking by linking chart notes, correspondence, and follow‑up documentation
Communicate with patients, providers, and referral facilities via phone, email, and fax
Provide patients with instructions, educational materials, and translated resources as appropriate
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
One year of experience working in an office setting, preferably in a medical or dental environment
Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking skills required at a level 9
Experience using Epic or other electronic health record systems preferred
Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast‑paced setting
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to learn and use medical terminology
