Mortgage Loan Processor Supervisor

Salary Range: $70,304.00 - $81,661.84 - $97,994.21

Position Purpose: We are seeking a detail-oriented and bilingual Mortgage Loan Processor Supervisot to support our Mortgage Loan Operation managing the mortgage application process from initial contact through closing. The ideal candidate is fluent in both Spanish and English, highly organized, member-focused and experienced in handling confidential financial information. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a smooth and positive experience for our members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Supervise and lead a team of mortgage processors, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing guidance to new and existing staff
- Timely Processing: Ensure all mortgage applications are processed in a timely manner, meeting deadlines for underwriting, closing, and other milestones
- Coordination with Stakeholders: Work closely with loan officers, underwriters, and other departments to resolve issues, clarify requirements, and ensure smooth loan progression
- Train staff on mortgage processing procedures, systems, and documentation requirements to improve efficiency and service quality
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of loan product guidelines and underwriting procedures
- Providing regular reports to management on the status of loan applications and team performance
- Workflow Management: Monitor team workflow, identify bottlenecks, and implement strategies to improve productivity and accuracy
- Assisting with the pre-approval process by determining the borrower’s ability to repay the loan
- Gather and verify financial data, credit reports, income statements, tax returns, bank records, and other required documents to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Reviewing rejected loan applications and suggesting alternatives if possible
- Order services, credit report, appraisal, title/escrow, flood, etc.
- Prepare and submit loan files to underwriting, ensuring completeness and accuracy
- Maintain consistent follow up with members, real estate agents, builders, etc.
- Monitor loan status and ensure deadlines are met throughout the loan process
- Organize closing documents, coordinate loan closings, and perform post-closing duties such as recording collateral documents and tracking loan funding
- Input and update borrower information in loan origination software
- Maintain accurate loan files, update databases, respond to inquiries, and provide support to mortgage loan officers
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state and Company Lending Regulations
- Provide exceptional member service and respond promptly to inquires
- Check loan applications for missing or inconsistent information, and verify financial data such as tax returns, bank statements, and credit reports
Position Requirements
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English, is preferred
- 5+ years previous experience in mortgage, banking or financial services
- Familiarity with loan origination software
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
- Supervisory experience 3+ years
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years experience
- High School Diploma
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or related field preferred
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in mortgage software, MS Office, and database management
Working Conditions
- Occasional evening or weekend work to meet project deadlines.
- Sitting for extended periods; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- Physically able to participate in meetings, presentations, and training sessions.
- Some travel may be required between branches and business partners.
