As part of our continued national expansion, we are seeking a Director of Market Development to drive agency growth and strategic partnerships throughout New York and the surrounding Northeast markets.
Position SummaryThe Director of Market Development – Northeast Region will lead agency recruitment, partner development, and business growth efforts across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and surrounding markets. This individual will serve as Carepoint's market leader in the region and will be responsible for expanding the company's distribution footprint through strategic agency relationships.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in Medicare distribution, carrier relations, agency recruitment, and market development, along with an established network of industry contacts throughout the Northeast.
Key ResponsibilitiesMarket ExpansionRecruit and develop independent agencies, brokers, and distribution partners throughout the Northeast region.
Execute regional growth initiatives aligned with Carepoint's strategic objectives.
Identify new market opportunities and expansion strategies.
Build long-term relationships with agency principals, managers, and top-producing agents.
Conduct agency business reviews and growth planning sessions.
Support agencies with onboarding, activation, and production growth initiatives.
Drive enrollment growth through strategic agency development efforts.
Collaborate with agency leadership to identify opportunities for increased production and market penetration.
Monitor key performance indicators and partner growth metrics.
Develop and maintain relationships with carrier leadership and broker management teams.
Represent Carepoint at industry conferences, networking events, and carrier meetings.
Stay informed on regional market trends and competitive dynamics.
Work closely with Contracting, Agency Services, Commissions, Operations, and Marketing teams to support partner success.
Facilitate communication between agencies and internal stakeholders.
Help resolve escalated agency concerns and operational issues.
5+ years of experience within Medicare, ACA, or insurance distribution.
Prior experience with an FMO, NMO, carrier, health plan, MGA, or agency leadership organization.
Proven success in agency recruitment, market development, or distribution management.
Strong knowledge of Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, PDP, and ACA products.
Ability to travel throughout the Northeast region.
Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills.
Existing network of agencies and broker relationships in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania.
Experience working with regional and national health plans.
Salesforce or CRM experience.
