About This Position

Description:

The Revenue Auditor Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily revenue audit operations across casino, racetrack, and dining outlets to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal controls, GAAP, and applicable gaming and racing regulations. This role provides day-to-day supervision of revenue audit staff, reviews audit work for accuracy and timeliness, resolves routine discrepancies, and serves as a key liaison between Revenue Audit, Finance, Cage, Gaming Operations, Racetrack Operations, Compliance, and IT. The position ensures audit procedures are consistently followed and supports continuous improvement of revenue audit processes in a 24/7 operating environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:

  • Supervises daily revenue audit activities for casino gaming, racetrack wagering, and food & beverage operations.
  • Reviews and approves daily audit work completed by Revenue Auditors and Senior Revenue Auditors for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal controls and procedures.
  • Ensures timely completion of daily, weekly, and monthly revenue audits, reconciliations, and operating reports.
  • Oversees audits of revenue sources including slots, table games, pari-mutuel wagering, kiosk transactions, cage activity, count room results, promotions, loyalty programs, and dining POS systems.
  • Reviews journal entries, variance reports, coupon tracking, and reconciliations prior to posting or escalation.
  • Investigates routine discrepancies, missing documentation, or system exceptions and coordinates resolution with operating departments.
  • Escalates complex or unresolved variances to the Revenue Audit Manager with supporting documentation and analysis.
  • Ensures all revenue activity is reconciled to source systems and properly supported by audit evidence.
  • Maintains and enforces established audit schedules, procedures, and departmental checklists.
  • Assists in maintaining and updating revenue audit policies, procedures, and internal control documentation.
  • Supports compliance with Internal Control Systems (ICS), GAAP, and state gaming and racing regulations.
  • Serves as a point of contact for Cage, Gaming, Racetrack Operations, Dining, Finance, Compliance, and IT regarding audit-related questions or issues.
  • Trains, coaches, and mentors revenue audit staff on audit processes, documentation standards, and system usage.
  • Assists with internal and external audits by preparing documentation, reports, and supporting schedules.
  • Maintains confidentiality and integrity of all financial records and audit documentation.
  • Attends departmental and cross-functional meetings as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education, experience, skills required, equipment used.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Three to five years of progressive revenue audit or accounting experience in a casino and/or racetrack environment required.
  • Prior lead, senior, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of revenue audit processes, internal controls, and audit methodologies.
  • Experience with casino management systems, racetrack/tote systems, cage systems, count room applications, and POS systems for dining outlets preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of financial systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced, 24/7 operating environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
