This role offers an opportunity to contribute to environmental and infrastructure-focused projects through high-quality spatial data analysis and mapping. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, supporting environmental consultants, engineers, and field specialists in delivering data-driven insights. The position involves creating, maintaining, and analyzing geospatial datasets that support regulatory, operational, and project planning needs. You will also be responsible for producing accurate and visually compelling cartographic outputs that inform both technical teams and clients. Working in a collaborative and purpose-driven environment, you will contribute to projects that directly support environmental stewardship and sustainable development. The role may also include occasional field support activities, depending on project requirements. - Create, edit, and maintain spatial data and mapping products to support environmental and consulting projects.
- Perform entry- to intermediate-level geospatial analysis to support project teams and service lines.
- Develop, manage, and maintain relational geospatial databases ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Produce high-quality cartographic outputs aligned with internal standards and client requirements.
- Support updates and improvements to GIS workflows, mapping standards, and internal processes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery and data-driven decision-making.
- Assist with field data collection activities when required, including support for GIS-enabled field tools.
- Ensure compliance with technical procedures, data standards, and project specifications.
- Undergraduate degree or technical diploma in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in a GIS Analyst or similar geospatial role, preferably in environmental or consulting sectors.
- Strong proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro.
- Solid understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and spatial data transformations.
- Experience using GIS tools such as Field Maps and Survey123 for data collection and management.
- Strong cartographic skills with an eye for detail and high-quality map design.
- Ability to interpret technical documents, drawings, and regulatory or project specifications.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience with enterprise GIS systems, scripting (Python, SQL), or automation tools is considered an asset.
- Competitive hourly compensation ranging from CAD 31 to CAD 45, based on experience and location.
