About the role

We are looking for experienced technicians who will use their knowledge to maintain an inviting property and address its needs, including appearance, safety, the make-ready process, preventative maintenance, and repair.

Pay is based on experience — midpoint range is $23/hr.

How you will be successful

Complete service requests in an effective, timely manner and to the satisfaction of residentsPerform preventive maintenance on property buildings, units, appliances, and equipmentEnsure all repairs, replacements, and clean-up are completed for the make-ready processCommunicate daily with the property office, reporting on the progress of service requests and make-readiesIdentify and report any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or maintenance needs to managementAssist other maintenance team members as neededMonitor pool operations on a daily basis and maintain appropriate health department standardsMaintain curb appeal by assisting with groundskeeping and picking up litterAssist with housekeeping, inspections, and other tasks as assigned by the property manager or maintenance supervisorMaintain positive communication with residents and provide excellent service through courteous and timely responses to resident needs and concernsPerform call-back emergency service as requiredMaintain organization and cleanliness of work areas and maintenance shopsAbide by Mills policies and procedures and all laws pertaining to Fair Housing, the Americans with Disabilities Act, etcEmbrace Mills Core Values and apply them to all areas of responsibility

What you need

High school diploma or GED; trade school degree preferredMinimum one year of maintenance experience preferredEPA Certification Type I and II, or Universal, required; or willingness to complete certification within the first 90 days of employmentProven ability to maintain composure and solve problems with keen insight when faced with obstaclesAbility to work a varied schedule, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shiftsAbility to work in extreme environmental conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.)Valid driver’s licenseAdept at building relationships and working in a team environment, with a proven track record of sharing ideas, providing encouragement, building on others’ ideas, giving due appreciation, and bringing out the best in others
