Job Summary

Responsible for reviewing medical records and inputting Emergency Services charges into computer. Responsible for performing ongoing Quality Improvement of documentation.

Job Requirements

Education

• Required: High School Diploma
• Preferred: Associates degree in health information management OR Bachelors Degree in a related field.

Experience

• Preferred: Experience with coding software in acute care setting

Skills

• Remain current with changes in coding guidelines and charging procedures
• Maintain competency with all software vendors related to clinical documentation, coding, and billing, providing input for necessary changes to software to enhance efficiency
• Providing feedback on documentation errors to professional and non-professional clinicians
• Responsible for performing ongoing Quality Improvement of documentation

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Required: RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CPC-A ,CCS, or CCA credentials
