CAH - Department Manager of Obstetrics – Full Time- Day Shift- 8a-4p – Req# 9533

Pay Range $52.09-$85.95*

The OB Nurse Manager is responsible for the direction of patient care in the OB and assumes administrative authority and responsibility for the clinical operations of the OB to assure delivery of patient care consistent with philosophy and objectives of the governing board. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in quality assurance activities, and formulating the department’s budget. The nurse manager will also be consulting with the healthcare team regarding nursing issues and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are being met.

Qualifications:

1. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; possess a current New York State License as a Registered Nurse.

2. Associates degree required, BSN OR MSN preferred or enrolled in an accredited (BSN) program within 6 months of acceptance of the positions.

3. Must have current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Electronic Fetal Monitoring.

4. Certification to teach Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 1 year of hire.

5. Must possess strong nursing leadership and management skills; Minimum of one year supervision.

6. Must possess and demonstrate appropriate knowledge of the ante-partum, intra-partem, and post-partum patient as well as the transitional period of newborns.

7. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Must also possess the ability to interact and communicate effectively with physicians, all levels of staff, patients, family members, visitors, and vendors.

8. Must possess and demonstrate appropriate means to provide care to Adult, Adolescent, and Neonate with knowledge of age-specific needs, and growth Development requirements.

9. Minimum of 5 years OB experience.

11. Passion for patient care in Labor and Delivery

12. Strong patient advocate

*The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future.
