Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Infrastructure Engineer based in the United States.
This role sits at the core of a highly secure, mission-critical platform that delivers software into some of the most demanding operational environments. You will design and operate infrastructure that spans cloud-native Kubernetes systems, edge appliances, and air-gapped deployments used in classified networks. The work requires building systems where security, reliability, and performance are inseparable, and where every design decision must hold up under strict compliance and real-world operational pressure. You will contribute across the full lifecycle of infrastructure—from architecture and code to deployment and audit readiness. This is a deeply hands-on engineering role with significant ownership, where you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including security, product, and compliance. The environment is fast-moving, high-trust, and focused on delivering resilient systems that operate at global scale in constrained environments.
- Design, build, and operate secure, production-grade infrastructure across cloud-native, edge, and air-gapped environments.
- Develop and maintain Kubernetes-based platforms, including multi-cluster operations, networking, storage, and workload orchestration.
- Harden and evolve CI/CD and artifact pipelines to ensure consistent, signed, and trusted deployments across all environments.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and compliance teams to embed infrastructure best practices and ensure audit readiness.
- Support secure system design and implementation aligned with regulatory and classified environment requirements (e.g., IL4/IL5/IL6, FedRAMP).
- Identify and resolve infrastructure reliability, scalability, and security issues in production systems.
- Contribute to architecture decisions, RFCs, and technical design reviews while also writing production-level code.
- 5+ years of experience in Infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or DevSecOps roles in production environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes at scale, including cluster operations, networking, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency in at least one modern backend or infrastructure-focused language (e.g., Go, Python, Rust, or TypeScript).
- Experience with major cloud providers such as AWS or Azure, including hybrid or multi-cloud architectures.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure and application security principles, including identity, secrets management, and network segmentation.
- Experience deploying and managing systems in constrained or disconnected environments, including air-gapped infrastructure.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems and contribute to full-stack infrastructure solutions.
- Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Competitive compensation with equity participation.
- Remote-first work structure with flexibility across U.S. locations.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
- Generous paid time off and supportive work-life balance policies.
- Home office setup support and ongoing technology stipends.
- Learning and development budget for training, certifications, and conferences.
- Opportunity to work on mission-critical, high-security infrastructure at scale.
- Exposure to advanced cloud, edge, and classified computing environments.
