Industrial Engineer at Gaven Industries, Inc. – Saxonburg, Pennsylvania

Position Summary:

The industrial engineer optimizes operational systems and processes to improve efficiency, productivity and overall performance

Job Responsibilities:

• Designs efficient production processes and workflows and addresses production issues
• Reduces waste and addresses safety and other production issues.
• Ensures that processes are designed to meet safety and quality standards
• Analyzes data to forecast trends and implement improvements in production processes
• Implements controls to monitor costs and minimize production issues
• Collaborates with cross functional teams and other departments to design, develop and implement production standards and solutions
• Helps to develop instruction manuals for production personnel.
• Generates process documentation and reports
• Performs additional duties as assigned to support overall objectives within the engineering and production teams

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards in the industry

• Understanding of lean manufacturing and supply-chain management
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Data analytics skills and experience

• Organization, planning and project management skills

• Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously
• Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) platforms

Education/Experience Requirements:

• BS in industrial engineering or related field such as manufacturing or mechanical engineering, required
• 2-3 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment
