Forklift Driver - 2nd Shift in Bowling Green, Kentucky at Rhenus Automotive Operations

Job Title: Forklift Driver

Job Summary:

The Forklift Driver is responsible the lifting, moving, and distributing goods throughout the manufacturing facility in a safe and secure manner. The Forklift Drive also is responsible for other warehouse duties, which may include packing of shipments and checking inventories both inside and outside the facility.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Transport material to designated areas in the facility as indicated by production schedule.
• Unload receiving deliveries and relocate the goods to their designated storage area.
• Assist with shipping & receiving processes with the Rhenus logistics department, and costumer if applicable.
• Follow all FIFO procedures to ensure parts are rotated according to date.
• Must keep up to date on health and safety requirements and forklift operating procedures.
• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures throughout the facility while operating the forklift.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong self-management skills with attention to detail while being on a timed process environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills such as active listening and empathy with the ability to relate to individuals from different backgrounds and situations.
• Ability to work in fast-paced transporting and loading environment.
• Must have knowledge of typical industrial storage procedures, such as, the stacking of pallets and the transportation of them.
• Outstanding attendance records and a continuous interest in learning and training.

Education and Experience:

• Basic written and verbal understanding of the English language.
• Previous professional experience with operating a forklift is preferred.
• Experience on a production line or a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to spend prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the production floor.
• Ability to spend multiple hours sitting on the forklift.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
