Head of Business Development

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Business Development based in the United States.

This is a senior commercial leadership role focused on accelerating revenue growth, strengthening strategic partnerships, and expanding market presence across a key regional territory. You will act as a central driver of business development strategy, working closely with channel partners, distributors, and internal teams to unlock new opportunities and maximize performance across multiple sales channels. The role combines hands-on field engagement with high-level strategic planning, including frequent travel to support partner enablement, customer engagement, and market expansion. You will be responsible for translating commercial objectives into actionable growth initiatives while ensuring consistent execution across territories. Success in this position requires strong leadership, commercial acumen, and the ability to build trust-based relationships across a complex partner ecosystem. The environment is dynamic, fast-paced, and highly collaborative, with direct impact on revenue performance and long-term business growth. This is a high-visibility role with significant influence on overall regional success.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead and manage Independent Manufacturers’ Representative relationships across assigned territories to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Develop, train, and support channel partners to ensure strong product knowledge, sales execution, and consistent performance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors, distributors, and wholesalers to strengthen sales pipelines and expand market reach.
  • Track, analyze, and report on sales KPIs, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Execute structured territory sales plans and ensure alignment with broader company revenue objectives.
  • Conduct regular partner reviews, sales meetings, presentations, and training sessions to support business development efforts.
  • Organize and lead trade shows, industry events, and field engagements to enhance brand visibility and generate new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to align strategies and improve customer acquisition and retention.
  • Analyze competitive landscape and market trends to inform strategic decision-making and growth initiatives.
  • Support digital adoption initiatives, including web ordering systems and platform engagement for distributors and partners.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 5–10+ years of experience in sales leadership, business development, or channel management with a proven record of revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of sales methodologies, CRM systems, and forecasting best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead partner ecosystems and manage multi-channel sales environments.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret market trends and performance metrics.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, sales automation tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 70%, including domestic travel for client meetings and events.
  • Strong adaptability, resilience, and ability to perform in fast-paced, field-driven environments.
