As an Account Manager, a typical day might include:
Customer Service & Account Executive Support
- Proactively obtaining underwriting information from potential and renewal clients
- Creating and sending submissions to underwriters (where re-marketing is required)
- Liaising with clients on the status of their request for coverage or renewal
- Presenting quotes and/or renewals to clients, obtaining orders and binding coverage with underwriters
- Maintaining a technical and service-oriented relationship with clients and underwriters
- Keeping the Account Executives up to date on the status of client accounts
- Providing friendly, professional service to customers and Account Executives
- Handling routine customer and Account Executive inquiries/concerns in a timely manner and to an agreed upon Practice Group standard
- Ensuring work is prompt, efficient, and accurate
- Ensuring that clients’ queries and requests are responded to in a professional and timely manner (internal & external)
- Cross Selling and Upselling on existing clients
- Attending client meetings, as required
Administration
- Issuing invoices, endorsements, cover notes, financing contracts, etc.
- Managing daily administration of accounts, including correspondence; review of policy wordings, contracts, & lease agreements; and issuance of new/renewal documentation
- Handling claims, including reporting to insurers, inputting new data, and updating clients on claims status when applicable
- Working Accounts Receivable lists
- Maintaining expiration lists and abeyances
- Ensuring all documents are accurate and files are kept in an orderly manner
Marketing
- Providing marketing and policy rating services
- Liaising with Account Executives to discuss client needs and make recommendations regarding terms and conditions obtained
- Providing ongoing servicing as required
- Negotiating mid-term changes with insurers
- Preparing submissions to insurers and proposals for clients
- Creating and following up on abeyances and documentation requests
- Attends client meetings, as required

Must haves:
Minimum 3-5 yearsCommercialinsurance experience, consistently meeting internal core competencies
- General Insurance Agent Level 2 licensein the individual’s province of residence, with the ability to obtain a British Columbia license.Level 1 is sufficient for RIBO.
- CAIB, CIP, CRM, or other insurance designations considered an asset
- Post-Secondary Degree considered an asset
- Experience using Epicbroker management system an asset
