POSITION OVERVIEW

As the Outside Sales Rep, you will manage, coordinate, and perform sales activities to achieve revenue and profit targets while expanding your sales portfolio and ensuring a seamless sales experience for customers.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Identifies and pursues new sales opportunities through prospecting, cold calling, and networking to expand sales portfolio.

2. Develops and maintains new and existing customer relationships and markets to achieve revenue and profit performance targets.

3. Promotes and assists in developing company products, marketing programs, and solutions to meet customer needs and increase sales.

4. Generates and prepares quotes in accordance with customer specifications and margin targets.

5. Manages pricing schedules and contractual pricing assignments with customers to ensure competitiveness and profitability.

6. Analyzes the needs of the customer and recommends product and service-related solutions that benefit both the Company and the customer, leading to enhanced customer satisfaction and increased business success.

7. Monitors revenue forecasts and provides updates to management on sales performance and territory outlook, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

8. Resolves customer complaints by collaborating with Quality to investigate issues, document findings, and propose corrective actions.

9. Monitors and analyzes the market for competitor products/services, market trends, and innovations to adjust sales strategies, identify opportunities, and maintain a competitive edge.

10. Maintains accurate and up-to-date client records to support sales efforts and customer relationship management.

11. Participates in industry trade shows and conventions to promote products and maintain awareness of market trends and competitor activity.

12. Coordinates with Company support staff to gather customer forecast and usage information to support the Sales & Operations Planning process.

13. Maintains in-depth knowledge of products and services to enhance customer satisfaction and drive sales.

14. Continually enhances individual consultative and comparison selling skills/techniques through research, training, and other development methods.

Requirements:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required; an Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Selling and/or Marketing certificate preferred.

Experience

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in Customer Service or Sales within B2B, Manufacturing, Distribution, or Industrial Industry required
  • Previous ERP experience (i.e., Epicor Prophet 21, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics ERP, etc.) (preferred).
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) experience (preferred).

Knowledge & Skills

Strong ability to plan, prioritize, problem-solve, and follow-up, with good project/time management skills; Strong ability to prospect, build, and maintain relationships; Able to meet sales targets; Capable of resolving customer complaints and coordinating with internal teams to implement solutions; Adept at identifying market trends and competitive insights to help drive sales strategies; Ability to analyze and interpret customer and product data, making informed decisions that support business goals. Skilled in generation quotes, proposing tailored solutions, managing pricing schedules, and forecasting revenue; Proficient in handling multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high organizational standards and attention to detail.
