This role oversees the end-to-end performance of operations and maintenance programs across assigned facilities and contracts, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant service delivery. It plays a critical part in maintaining building systems performance while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement. The position requires strong leadership in managing technical teams, subcontractors, and client relationships within complex environments. It combines hands-on operational oversight with strategic program management, including budgeting, reporting, and KPI tracking. The role is highly customer-facing, acting as the main liaison for service quality, issue resolution, and performance reporting. It is well-suited for a proactive leader who thrives in dynamic, multi-site operational settings and is motivated by optimizing systems and service outcomes.
- Lead the planning, execution, and continuous oversight of all operations and maintenance activities across assigned contracts or sites, ensuring performance, safety, and compliance standards are consistently met
- Manage daily facility operations, including building systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical infrastructure, ensuring optimal functionality and reliability
- Develop, implement, and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs to enhance asset longevity and reduce downtime
- Supervise internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring quality service delivery, adherence to procedures, and alignment with contractual requirements
- Oversee program budgets, forecasts, and cost controls while identifying opportunities for operational efficiency and cost reduction
- Establish, track, and report on key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Serve as primary client interface, providing updates, resolving issues, and ensuring overall customer satisfaction
- Lead inspections, audits, workforce planning, training, and performance management initiatives across O&M teams
- Support onboarding, transition efforts, proposal development, and program startup activities when required
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, safety standards, and internal policies while fostering a strong safety culture
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience
- 5–10 years of experience in operations and maintenance, facilities management, or similar technical leadership roles
- Proven experience managing large-scale O&M programs, multi-site operations, or government or industrial contracts
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related infrastructure
- Demonstrated leadership ability in managing teams, contractors, and cross-functional operations
- Experience in budget management, forecasting, and financial performance optimization
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and client-facing skills
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to use data and KPIs to drive decisions and improvements
- OSHA 30 certification or higher preferred, along with CHFM certification as an advantage
- Ability to work in dynamic environments with physical requirements such as lifting up to 50 pounds and performing field-based inspections when needed
