Industrial Electrician (PLC Programming & Automation)
Location: Brook Park, Ohio (or surrounding areas)
Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Maintenance Manager / Electrical Supervisor
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician with strong programming capabilities to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and automated equipment in a fast-paced industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with electrical systems up to 480V and proficiency in PLC programming to support our automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
•Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical equipment, including motors, drives, controls, lighting, and power distribution systems.
•Program, troubleshoot, and modify PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), HMIs, and industrial automation systems.
•Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system issues using schematics, blueprints, and diagnostic tools.
•Perform preventive maintenance on electrical and automated machinery to minimize downtime.
•Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to implement process improvements and new automation projects.
•Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including NFPA 70E, OSHA, and company policies.
•Document work performed, maintain accurate records, and assist in developing electrical drawings and control system documentation.
•Support the integration of new equipment and machinery.
Qualifications & Requirements
•High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field preferred.
•Valid Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent industrial electrical experience (minimum 4–7 years in an industrial/manufacturing setting).
•Strong PLC programming experience required (Allen-Bradley RSLogix/Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, or similar).
•Proficiency with HMI programming, VFDs, servo drives, and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, etc.).
•Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and technical manuals.
•Strong troubleshooting skills in both electrical and control systems.
•Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime and weekends for urgent repairs.
•Must have own hand tools and basic electrical testing equipment.
•Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Skills
•Experience with robotics, SCADA systems, or vision systems.
•Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement processes.
•Basic mechanical aptitude (pneumatics, hydraulics).
