Position Overview
As a Medical Assistant, you will perform both clinical and administrative duties under the supervision of a physician/provider and/or registered nurse. You will be a vital part of our care team, ensuring patients receive the highest quality service from check-in to check-out.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients, ensuring a smooth visit from start to finish

• Escort patients to exam rooms, take vitals, record medical history, and prepare them for appointments

• Assist providers during exams and procedures; administer medications and injections as directed

• Collect and prepare lab specimens; perform basic lab tests

• Provide patient education and clear instructions for care plans

• Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR)

• Schedule appointments, process referrals, and complete prior authorizations as needed

• Verify insurance, process billing, and handle related administrative tasks

• Manage phone messages, Tavoca messages, and other patient communications in a timely manner

• Keep exam rooms stocked, clean, and compliant with infection control standards

• Support front desk operations, including answering calls and addressing patient inquiries

• Uphold patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations

• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and team collaboration

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED

• 2+ years of medical office experience or equivalent

• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures

• Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills

• Familiarity with EHR systems and basic computer skills

• CPR certification

• Willingness to travel to other practice locations as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA or equivalent)

• Completion of a recognized Medical Assistant program

• Experience with insurance billing and claims processing

• Additional relevant certifications or training
