Accountabilities:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture
Act as the technical lead for data science initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with project goals
Design, develop, and review scalable data solutions using SQL, Python, and PySpark
Collaborate with data engineering teams to build and optimize ETL pipelines in cloud-based environments
Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders and leadership
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for cross-functional teams and external partners

Requirements:

8+ years of experience in data science or data engineering, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
Strong experience working with healthcare datasets such as Medicaid or Medicare claims is highly preferred
Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark for large-scale data processing and analysis
Hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks and cloud environments (e.g., AWS)
Solid understanding of data engineering principles, ETL processes, and data modeling techniques
Familiarity with software development best practices including version control and CI/CD pipelines
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
