Training Lead

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Training Lead based in Canada.

This role is a key enterprise leadership position responsible for shaping and scaling IT training strategy across the organization. You will define the vision, standards, and governance for all learning programs related to enterprise systems and technology platforms. Acting as both strategist and hands-on expert, you will design and deliver impactful training solutions that enable users to adopt complex tools with confidence. You will lead a team of training professionals while ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with business priorities. The role requires close collaboration with IT leaders, business stakeholders, and external partners to identify capability gaps and translate them into effective learning interventions. In a fast-evolving digital environment, you will drive continuous improvement and innovation in learning practices. Your work will directly enhance user adoption, operational efficiency, and overall technology effectiveness.

Accountabilities

This position is responsible for establishing and leading the enterprise IT training function, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and digital transformation priorities. You will define and standardize training frameworks, methodologies, and best practices while overseeing end-to-end learning program execution. Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining and executing the enterprise IT training strategy, ensuring alignment with business and technology objectives.
  • Establishing governance, standards, and methodologies for consistent and high-quality training delivery.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of training practitioners, including capability building and performance management.
  • Overseeing the design, development, and delivery of training programs for enterprise applications and IT systems.
  • Conducting training needs analyses to ensure learning solutions are relevant, effective, and user-centered.
  • Partnering with IT leadership, business stakeholders, and vendors to align training initiatives with operational needs.
  • Driving continuous improvement by integrating new learning technologies, methodologies, and best practices.
Requirements

This role requires extensive experience in training and learning development, ideally within enterprise or technology-driven environments. You should bring a strong foundation in instructional design and adult learning principles, combined with proven leadership experience. Key qualifications and skills include:

  • 10+ years of experience in training and development, including leadership of enterprise training teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Education, Instructional Design, or a related field; CTDP or equivalent certification is an asset.
  • Strong expertise in instructional design, adult learning theory, and training methodologies.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering training for enterprise IT systems and applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, coach practitioners, and build training capability across an organization.
  • Experience developing learning content, training materials, and LMS-based solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts into practical learning solutions.
