Job Description

Staff DBA

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff DBA based in United States.

This is a senior-level database architecture and data modeling role focused on defining how large-scale security and identity data is structured, stored, and accessed across a modern Data Security Posture Management platform. You will play a critical role in designing the schemas and data standards that ensure consistency, scalability, and interoperability across multiple enterprise data sources such as identity systems, file storage, and collaboration platforms. The role sits at the intersection of database engineering, backend architecture, and data platform design, requiring both deep technical expertise and strong collaboration with engineering and product teams. You will help shape how data flows through analytical and operational systems, enabling reliable reporting, governance, and security enforcement. In addition, you will work on performance optimization for both transactional and analytical workloads, ensuring systems remain efficient at scale. This is a highly impactful role in a fast-evolving environment where data structure decisions directly influence product capability and long-term platform success.

Accountabilities:
  • Design and maintain standardized data schemas across multiple enterprise data sources, ensuring consistency, scalability, and interoperability
  • Define and enforce data models and contracts for core entities such as users, groups, resources, and permissions
  • Develop schema evolution and versioning strategies to support continuous product development and platform scalability
  • Design and optimize PostgreSQL and ClickHouse schemas for transactional, analytical, and time-series workloads
  • Establish indexing, partitioning, and retention strategies to balance performance, cost, and scalability requirements
  • Ensure alignment between data models, business logic, and reporting needs in collaboration with engineering and product teams
  • Implement data quality standards, including validation, normalization, and consistency checks across systems
  • Manage schema migrations and database changes through CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation workflows
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams on Kubernetes-based deployments and infrastructure-as-code practices for database systems
  • Support observability and monitoring initiatives to ensure data reliability and system performance
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, backend engineering, or database architecture roles
  • Strong expertise in PostgreSQL, SQL optimization, and database performance tuning
  • Hands-on experience with ClickHouse or similar analytical databases such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift
  • Proven experience designing complex data models across multi-system or enterprise-scale environments
  • Strong understanding of data modeling principles, schema design, and data lifecycle management
  • Experience with schema versioning, data contracts, and data governance best practices
  • Familiarity with metadata management and data documentation tools (e.g., dbt, OpenMetadata, or similar)
  • Experience working with Kubernetes environments and containerized database deployments
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Helm, or GitHub Actions
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and communication skills in cross-functional teams
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation aligned with senior database and data engineering roles
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • Continuous learning and professional development opportunities
  • Collaborative, innovation-driven engineering culture
  • Career growth opportunities in a global, fast-scaling cybersecurity organization
  • Flexible work environment with remote-first collaboration
  • Exposure to cutting-edge data security and identity-driven platforms
  • Inclusive workplace culture emphasizing ownership, transparency, and excellence
