We are hiring a Construction Inspector located in Seattle, WA. The Construction Project Inspector position will represent the project owner and provide quality control and inspection expertise including civil/structural, building, electrical, mechanical, utility, safety, and roofing scopes of work.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Inspects materials, installation, and layout of work on the project site and evaluates its acceptability.
Understand and verify contractor conformance to all Contract Documents, submittals, RFIs, and applicable codes and design standards.
Determines and notifies contractor of unacceptable material.
Serves as liaison between operations, owner, and contractor during construction.
Performs or supervises quality control testing.
Maintains thorough and accurate records documenting the entire process of the project, which includes daily log for each job, updates from weekly progress meetings, updates from progress meetings with contractors, and all findings during quality control or inspection of the material, work, and job site.
Verifies quantities for contractors monthly pay estimate.
Other duties as assigned.
Attendance at work during normal business hours.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, surveying, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of construction inspection experience for the work they are responsible for inspecting, or a minimum of 3 years of inspection experience plus 2 years of construction experience in engineering or inspection within the relevant discipline.
Demonstrated experience in at least one primary inspection discipline, with the ability to coordinate across multiple trades and interfaces.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, submittals, contract requirements, and construction schedules.
Familiarity with public agency construction practices, quality documentation, field reporting, and contractor coordination.
Experience documenting field activities through daily inspection reports, photo documentation, deficiency logs, and testing records.
Working knowledge of applicable safety requirements, construction sequencing, and access constraints in active operating environments.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Kahua, or similar project documentation and reporting systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly document deficiencies and coordinate with appropriate staff.
Relevant certifications related to construction inspection are preferred but not required.

The salary range for this full-time role is $72,400.00-$135,533.36 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package.
