About This Position

Operations Lead

Hermeus is a high-speed aircraft manufacturer focused on the rapid design, build, and test of high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft for the national interest. Working directly with the Department of Defense, Hermeus delivers capabilities that will ensure that our nation, and our allies, maintain an asymmetric advantage over any and all potential adversaries.
As the Operations Lead at Hermeus, you will play a critical role in ensuring smooth operation, clear communications, and strategic alignment across the company. You will work directly with the VP, collaborating with the senior leadership team to drive organizational success. This position requires exceptional communication, leadership, strategic, and analytical skills, along with the ability to navigate a dynamic and rapidly scaling startup environment. Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the VP of Engineering to shape and drive strategic priorities, and execution rhythm across engineering teams.
  • Serve as the VPs force multiplier, monitoring project health, removing roadblocks, and ensuring flawless follow-through.
  • Build and manage tools for high-velocity program execution, including planning frameworks, org comms and offsites.
  • Serve as the key connector between Engineering, Product, Supply Chain, Operations. Communicate clearly, align stakeholders, and drive tight cross-team collaboration.
  • Prepare high-quality strategic materials for executives with a focus on clarity and impact.
  • Surface insights and recommendations to the VP of Engineering on organizational improvements, decision-making, and operational efficiencies.
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in strategy or operations within technology environments, including direct collaboration with senior technical leadership. You don't need to be an engineer, but you should be comfortable navigating technical conversations and able to build credibility with senior engineers.
  • Background in STEM (Engineering, Computer Science) or equivalent technical experience.

  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical chops. You should be comfortable reviewing data, roadmaps, research, and distilling into decision-ready insights.
  • You thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environment, balancing long-term initiatives with urgent priorities and managing ambiguity with focus and discipline.
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator youre able to craft executive-level content and align diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience managing budgets, tracking KPIs, and driving operational efficiency within a technology organization.
