We are seeking a highly skilled EHS Specialist to join our team. You will play a critical role in fostering a culture of safety and well-being across the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while promoting proactive safety measure to protect employees, contractors and visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Implementing and maintaining a comprehensive health and safety program, policies and procedures that align with regulatory standards.
- Continuously assess and improve existing safety programs to address emerging risks and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
- Recommend corrective actions and risk mitigation strategies to reduce exposure to hazards.
- Investigate workplace incidents, near misses and accidents to determine root causes.
- Analyze health and safety performance metrics, prepare reports and present findings to managers.
- Support training initiatives (may include creating materials and delivery of training).
- Support the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to reduce injuries, enhance well-being and increase overall safety performance.
- Support the selection, distribution and use of PPE.
- Provide support to integrate EHS requirements in all departments.
Minimum Requirements:
- Occupational Health and Safety certificate or Associates Degree Experience.
- 1-3 Years of experience in Environmental, Health and Safety, and/or Operations.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and monitoring health and safety programs and policies.
Preferred Requirements:
- Workplace Health & Safety, and Environmental Principles Knowledge and Skills.
- Strong knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, standards and best practices.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and Safety Management Software Personal Attributes.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills .
- Ability to clearly communicate in a professionally form.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
