Pressed Floral is a bespoke floral preservation company based in that preserves life's special moments through fine art. Serving clients nationwide, our goal is to create sentiments that will last forever.


Summary:

As the Design Team Manager for Pressed Floral, you will play a pivotal role in driving the artistic vision and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality designs. This leadership position involves managing a team of skilled designers, guiding them in the creation of bespoke pressed flower artwork, overseeing and streamlining the entire design process, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration, and analyzing performance metrics to optimize individual and team success.

Metrics include, but are not limited to design ratios, turnover, and positive reviews.

Responsibilities:

Leadership

  • Collaborate with the Branding and Product Departments to communicate the overall artistic vision for Pressed Floral designs, aligning with the company's aesthetic and brand identity.
  • Provide creative direction and guidance to the design team, fostering a collaborative and inspiring work environment.
  • Approve and refine designs, ensuring they meet quality standards and resonate with the target audience as well as provide ongoing and direct feedback.

Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of designers, nurturing their skills and fostering a culture of creativity, adaptability, and loyalty.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review ongoing projects, share feedback, and ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Manage workload distribution, deadlines, and priorities within the design team.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members to discuss their professional development, address concerns, and provide personalized feedback.

Performance Analysis

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for each team member to assess individual and collective design effectiveness.
  • Analyze metrics related to design productivity, quality, and innovation, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies for optimization.

Training and Development

  • Identify skill gaps and provide training opportunities to enhance the team's proficiency and individual proficiency in “Pressed Floral” signature style and art techniques.
  • Implement ongoing training programs to keep the team updated on new materials and emerging design methodologies.

Oversight

  • Manage and oversee the timely completion of all custom products, including, but not limited to: traditional and non-traditional frames, shadow boxes, necklaces, partnership products, and any other products that may emerge.
  • Supervise and delegate all tasks relating to resin design, innovation, tracking, and budgets.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as fulfillment and preservation, to ensure that designs align with business objectives and market trends.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, managers, clients, and external partners to convey design concepts, project timelines, and any other relevant information.
  • Monitor and approve communication between designers and clients, ensuring that brand voice is consistent and clients are satisfied, mitigating conflict when it arises in a prompt and compassionate manner.

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ years of leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience.
  • Strong artistic eye and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and feedback skills.
  • Ability to maintain quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in floral design, fine arts, custom artwork, or a creative production environment.
  • Experience training, coaching, and developing team members.
  • Experience reviewing and approving creative work.
  • Experience tracking KPIs and team performance metrics.
  • Experience with project management and workload planning.
