Yard Personnel - Truss Plant Manufacturing at Ambassador Supply LLC – Doylestown, Ohio

Front Yard employees are responsible for maintaining the yard, building loads, loading and unloading material, and putting away material. Yard employees are responsible for maintaining the organization and appearance of the yard and inventory as they organize product to supply the plant while operating a forklift.

Primary Role Expectations:

• Operate machinery to stack and organize various sizes and types of lumber
• Inspect lumber for defects and ensure quality standards
• Safely loading trusses onto trucks for delivery
• Removing trusses from racks and relocating for staging in yard
• Building truss packages and preparing for delivery
• Maintain inventory control accuracy of all wood products and hangers
• Unload and receive product as it is delivered from vendors.
• Audit packing slips to confirm accuracy of product orders and shipments.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work area
• Regular and predictable attendance, including ability to work overtime, is an essential function of this position.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience operating a Tow Motor
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read a measuring tape.
• Ability to recognize size grade and quality of material.
• Ability to drive a forklift with onsite training.
• Strong ability to work effectively with diverse individuals from management to floor employees.
• Strong communication skills, reasoning, and mathematical skills.
• Regular and punctual attendance is essential to the successful execution of this role to maintain team productivity and collaboration. Employees are expected to adhere to the assigned work schedule.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

• Perform the position’s physical functions with extensive mobility and ease including walking, sitting, standing, bending, talking, hearing, seeing, and using hands to operate tools necessary for the job
• This position requires frequent and repetitive lifting of 25lbs and occasional lifting or moving up to 60lbs.
• While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, sawdust, and outside weather conditions.
