Arrowhead Winch engineers and manufactures industrial winch, hoist and drive systems under the BRADEN, CARCO and Gearmatic brand names in Broken Arrow and Okmulgee, Oklahoma. We are seeking talented individuals to join our team on 2nd shift. The Multi-Gear Machinist (Gear and Hobbs) working hours are Monday - Friday 3:00p.m. - 11:00p.m. with occasional overtime. Responsibilities of the Multi Gear Machinist

  • Performs machine set-up on two or more gear machines. Specific machines include: Fellows, Mitsubishi or Barbara-Colman Machines
  • Read and understand blueprints and detailed worksheets, and perform mathematical calculations required in the association with the blueprint and work instructions.
  • Perform both simple and complex machining operations to produce gears that meet tolerances as specified
  • Complete required quality and production paperwork
  • Use inspection equipment to inspect parts for quality and specifications
  • Deburr parts machined when applicable
  • Performs daily/weekly checks of machine conditions such as oil levels, pressures, etc.
  • Prepare parts for next operation (Internal or external)
  • Participate in improvements to enhance productivity and product quality
  • Record labor into production management system
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in work area
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Acquire personal tools as necessary to perform machinist work.
  • Ability to perform machining operations on various machines with minimal assistance.
  • Understanding of machine tool feed and speed concepts as related to the machining of most common materials.
  • Experience and knowledge of setup procedures and techniques applicable to CNC Lathes.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and detailed worksheets, and capable of performing mathematical.
  • Capable of using multiple types of inspection equipment so as to check parts machined.
  • Basic computer skills required for the accurate recording of labor.
  • Must be able to use material handling equipment to pull and position parts and materials necessary to perform assigned tasks.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must have good hand eye coordination and hand dexterity.
  • Must be physically able to use hand tools and power tools frequently.
  • Must be able to frequently reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to stand and walk on concrete floors for 8 to10 hours per day.
  • Must be able to frequently bend and squat.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to apply 65 pounds of push/pull force.
  • Must be comfortable with frequent exposure to greases, oils, solvents, and surface coatings.
  • Must be capable of safely working with and around heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Must be able to see clearly and follow written instructions.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly.
