Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-driven Components Buyer to join the Xttrium Supply Chain team at our Mount Prospect facility. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional who thrives in a structured, fast-paced environment and is looking to build a strong foundation in procurement, planning, and inventory management.
This is not a passive purchasing role. You will be expected to actively manage supply continuity, communicate with vendors, and support critical operational workflows that directly impact production performance. Success in this role requires a high level of ownership, precision, and accountability.
This position reports directly to the Procurement Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Review production schedules and demand forecasts to determine component requirements
- Place and manage purchase orders for production components
- Follow up with vendors to confirm order status and delivery timing
- Identify and escalate supply risks before they impact production
- Assist with inventory control tasks including returns and rejections
- Maintain accurate purchasing and vendor data in ERP systems
- Collaborate with Production Planning, Quality, Finance, and Warehouse teams
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Supply Chain, Business, or related)
- 0–3 years of experience

- Inventory fundamentals: understanding of lead times, reorder points, safety stock, and demand planning concepts
Preferred
- ERP system exposure (SAGE, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Manufacturing or regulated industry experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 annually
- Discretionary bonus based on company and department performance
