Position Overview
The Quality Control Technician I assists with routine testing and analysis of materials sampled throughout the production process. This role performs basic tests on aggregates, bituminous mixtures, and concrete using specialized testing equipment while supporting accurate documentation, reporting, and quality standards across plant operations.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine material testing including gradation, material properties, weights, moisture, and other required quality tests.
- Review test results for completeness and accuracy and report findings to plant personnel and the Quality Control Manager.
- Review testing procedures to ensure proper data utilization and unbiased evaluation of observed conditions.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas including tools, vehicles, and plant laboratories.
- Drive company vehicles between plant locations to perform testing and sampling activities.
- Complete required area audits.
- Maintain work areas and equipment in a safe and clean condition.
- Abide by and support all company and plant safety policies, rules, and MSHA regulations.

What You'll Bring
Required Skills and Abilities
- Must have basic analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of statistical concepts and the theory and practice of random sampling.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Other Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive company vehicles between plant locations.
- Ability to occasionally travel (including overnight) up to one (1) week at a time.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced production environment while following company safety policies and procedures.
