Job Description

OrganaBio was founded in 2018 with the mission to become the hub for tissue sourcing, clinical sample processing and contract manufacturing services to support cell and gene therapy developers around the globe. Headquartered in Miami, Florida, OrganaBio delivers products and services that span the full development lifecycle – from proprietary tissue supply chains and cellular starting materials to expert development, testing, and other support services that expedite the path to clinical translation. This position will work at the newly formed OrganaBio subsidiary Excellos Labs, LLC (“Excellos Labs”) located in Downtown San Diego, California.


The Supply Chain Associate II is responsible for the essential functions within the Supply Chain department. This position will assist in a variety of materials management functions; including, but not limited to, inventory management, packaging, shipping of customer orders and shipping request, receiving of finished goods and supplies. This position will work within defined protocols and procedures and supports the Excellos Lab safety, GMP and Quality Plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform cross functional support: procurement of supply, material handling, special shipment of goods and samples.

• Perform procurement of all products, equipment, supplies.

• Receive, verify, store, and distribute incoming deliveries.

• Maintain inventory control of conforming and non-conforming materials.

• Manages the shipment of cell-based samples and products adhering to good manufacturing practices (GMP) guidelines.

• Maintain associated records for raw materials, intermediates, disposables, consumables, reagents, and controlled, regulated materials.

• Assist with Purchase to Sale Orders (Run Rate).

• Perform pickups of run rates, leukopaks, platelets and CBUs from suppliers.

• Assists with improvement opportunities and other task performed by the Supply Chain department when needed.

• Assists with maintaining SOPs and policies to support department activities.

• Ability to train personnel on materials management and sample/product distribution.

• Ability to accurately follow procedures with minimal direction.

• Ability to work effectively in team situations, cross-functionally as well as independently.

• Ability to train personnel on materials management and sample/product distribution.

• Participates in department meetings and educational programs.

• Attends meetings with existing and future suppliers, vendors and auditors.

• Complies with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.

• Adheres to good manufacturing practices (GMP) guidelines.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

• Normal laboratory environment with biohazard precautions.

• May be exposed to blood or bodily fluids that may be capable of transmitting diseases.

• May be exposed to chemicals that may be hazardous.

• May be called on to work or attend meetings at other than routinely scheduled hours.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to perform physical laboratory procedures when necessary.

• Must be able to work on a computer 4 - 8 hours a day.

• Must be able to move around office and attend meetings outside of office.

• Must be able to communicate clearly.

• May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory CA driving record.

EQUIPMENT USED

• Standard office equipment including computer, faxes, phones and printers.

• General laboratory equipment including but not limited to scales, shippers, barcode scanners, freezers)

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

o Associates degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

Experience:

o 3+ years’ experience with inventory management, shipping and receiving.

o Previous experience in research, cell therapy, or biotech preferred.

Skills:

o Basic understanding of stem cell transplantation, sterility, and cell therapy.

o Ability to organize information for multiple, concurrent projects.

o Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain professional relationships both internally and externally.

o Critical thinking, creativity, and innovative thinking.

o Decision-making skills. Uses authority appropriately in making sound judgments in a timely manner. Accepts accountability.

o Professional communication both written and oral, which is clear and precise.

o Must keep Management informed on any technical and/or operational issues that arise.

o Organizational skills – time management, priorities, deadlines, goals.

o Flexibility – ability to effectively manage change and positively influence others.

o Attention to detail and cGMP compliance.

o Integrity and discretion – ability to maintain confidentiality.

o Ability to perform under pressure and work under stressful situations.

o Team orientation.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm (non-exempt)

Salary range: $46,000 - $56,000 per year
