About the Role

We are looking for an energetic, highly motivated, and detail-oriented individual to join our growing team as a Fertilizer/Pesticide Applicator. This is a technically skilled, customer-facing role that requires someone who takes pride in the quality of their work and understands the responsibility that comes with chemical application. You will be out in the field daily — managing routes, applying product to customer lawns with precision, and representing the Edina Seasonal Services brand with professionalism. No two days look exactly the same, and we need someone who takes ownership of their work from start to finish.

Location: Chaska, MN

Primary Responsibilities

• Operate fertilizer and pesticide application equipment including, but not limited to, Turfco 3000i, Toro ride-on spreader, and walk-behind spreaders
• Apply fertilizers and pesticides following all environmental best practices and company safety protocols
• Accurately record product usage and maintain inventory logs
• Perform effective time management and route tracking throughout the day
• Accurately complete paperwork and utilize mobile applications as required
• Adhere to schedules and routes per management direction
• Perform work in various weather conditions

• Perform daily maintenance checklists on all equipment and chemical supplies
• Ensure equipment is properly cleaned, calibrated, and field-ready at the start of each day
• Report any equipment issues or chemical discrepancies to the Lawn Division Manager and Equipment Manager promptly

• Promptly and respectfully communicate with customers to address their concerns, feedback, and/or questions
• Represent Edina Seasonal Services professionally at all customer locations

• Assist lawn and landscape division as needed
• During winter months, assist with snow removal as required

Required:

• Valid, unrestricted Minnesota driver’s license with a clean driving record — this is a driving position
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Medical DOT card prior to start date
• Valid Pesticide Applicator Licenses A and E
• This position requires a background check as a condition of employment
• Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs., perform repetitive labor, and work in inclement weather
• Proficient in operating fertilizer and pesticide application equipment
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks throughout the day
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently without constant supervision
• Strong communication skills for customer-facing interactions in the field
• Ability to operate mobile and other cloud-based technology
• 1–2 years of experience in residential chemical application or a related field

Preferred:

• Mechanically inclined with experience operating lawn care equipment
• Forward-thinking mentality with a strong work ethic

This role is not a desk job. You will be on your feet and behind the wheel every day, responsible for servicing a route of residential and commercial lawn care customers. Mornings typically begin with loading equipment, reviewing your route, and verifying product inventory. Throughout the day you’ll be applying fertilizers and pesticides with precision, documenting your work, and interfacing with customers as needed. The expectation is that you manage your time effectively, communicate clearly with your Lawn Division Manager, and make sure every lawn on your route is treated correctly — done right, and done on time.

• $27.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
