This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Director of Assessment and Accreditation based in the United States.
This role plays a central operational leadership function in advancing academic quality, assessment, and accreditation across multiple programs within a higher education environment. You will serve as a key connector between academic leadership, faculty, and institutional offices to ensure alignment of learning outcomes, curriculum design, and accreditation standards. The position focuses on coordinating assessment activities, improving data-driven decision-making, and supporting continuous program improvement. You will work closely with academic program directors and faculty to strengthen the measurement of student learning outcomes and ensure compliance with internal and external accreditation requirements. This is a highly collaborative and cross-functional role that requires both analytical rigor and strong relationship management skills. Operating in a dynamic academic setting, you will help translate institutional strategy into effective, measurable academic quality processes.
In this role, you will coordinate and support academic assessment and accreditation activities while ensuring alignment between faculty, academic leadership, and institutional standards.
- Support planning and execution of assessment activities across academic programs to ensure alignment with institutional goals and timelines
- Serve as a primary liaison between academic program directors, faculty, subject matter experts, and university governance bodies
- Facilitate collection, analysis, and reporting of assessment data to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with faculty on development of learning outcomes (CLOs, MLOs, PLOs) and assessment rubrics
- Ensure alignment between curriculum development and assessment practices in partnership with academic leadership
- Manage and support the use of assessment management systems, dashboards, and reporting tools
- Produce reports and insights using student data, surveys, and institutional systems to inform academic improvements
- Assist in faculty training and development of resources related to assessment practices and outcomes measurement
- Coordinate preparation of program reviews, accreditation documentation, and self-studies for internal and external review processes
- Support governance processes related to assessment changes and accreditation requirements, including regional and programmatic accreditors
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and promote a culture of continuous academic enhancement
This role requires extensive experience in higher education assessment and accreditation, combined with strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 8+ years of experience in higher education, with strong exposure to academic assessment theory and practice
- Experience supporting assessment activities in higher education, including online and adult learning environments
- Familiarity with accreditation bodies such as AACSB, ACBSP, IACBE, ABET, or regional accreditors (e.g., WSCUC)
- Experience working with assessment management systems and institutional data reporting tools
- Understanding of research methods, data analysis, and statistical reporting in academic contexts
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to collaborate across diverse academic stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven academic environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and process consistency
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to cross-functional academic teams
- Change-oriented mindset with ability to support innovation and continuous improvement in academic processes
