CHMC –Emergency Department-Graduate Nurse – Full Time Temporary- Various shifts 7p-7:30a/7a-7:30p-Requisition 9003

A Graduate Nurse in the Emergency Department delivers specialized, compassionate patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in an emergency care setting. Effectively communicates with patients within a multi disciplinary emergency medical service provider team to facilitate optimal patient care, while maintaining standards of professional nursing. Establishes priorities for nursing action according to patient’s needs and formulates appropriate care. Performs continuous assessments and revises care based upon patient’s condition.

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Nursing. Submittal of application for Licensure and Limited Permit. Paid required fees.
• Valid New York State RN License within one year of receiving limited permit.
• BLS certification
• LPN/EMS experience preferred and/or known desire to start and commit to Critical Care Nursing
• ACLS, PALS, or ENPC certification.
• Successful completion of Critical Care course within one year of position start date.
• Acknowledging changes in a patient’s condition or behavior, and promptly reporting these changes to appropriate licensed nursing personnel.
• Maintaining confidentiality of all patient information.
• Maintaining quality assurance and compliance with all regulatory agencies.
• Ability to implement and support procedures and programs pertaining to patient safety and security.
• Exhibit proficient communication skills and ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a variety of personalities.
• Ability to sustain attention to detail and accuracy as it pertains to the monitoring and documentation of information.
• Performing various intervention tasks assigned by the charge nurse. Maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients.
• Basic computer knowledge.
