Deck Maintenance Technician I at Fisher Island Community Association – Miami Beach, Florida

We’re searching for a hard-working and dedicated Deck Maintenance Technician I to join our team. In this role, it will be your responsibility to perform a variety of tasks that help our ferry function. Your duties will include performing routine maintenance on ferry vessels, terminals, and related equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Able to perform upkeep and preventive maintenance on vessels with minimal supervision.
• Follow maintenance and safety procedures as directed by the supervisor.
• Must be able to lead in team assignments, as well as able to work alone.
• Comply with all Fisher Island standards, policies, and procedures.
• Perform all other related duties as requested.
• Must adhere to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• Carpentry, custom cabinet maker, laminates, general repairs, and maintenance.
• Experience with marine coating, rust prevention, and preservation.
• Knowledge of marine equipment and tools.
• Must speak, read, and write English.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Fitness levels sufficient to remain standing for most of your shift
• Able to bend, rotate and reach frequently
• Carry, push/pull and/or lift materials weighing upwards of 75 lbs.
• Ascending/descending stairs or ladders safely
• Willingness to work in tough climates
• Outside marine equipment/maintenance environment
• Aboard vessel
