This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Vice President – Investments (AI, DeepTech & Emerging Technologies) based in India.
This is a high-impact investment leadership role focused on identifying and backing the next generation of transformative technology companies. You will operate at the intersection of venture capital, emerging technologies, and founder ecosystems, with a strong focus on AI, DeepTech, SaaS, and frontier innovation sectors. The role involves sourcing high-potential startups, shaping investment theses, and driving end-to-end deal execution from discovery to closing. You will work closely with founders, portfolio companies, and ecosystem partners to support growth, fundraising, and strategic scaling. The environment is fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and intellectually rigorous, requiring strong investment judgment combined with deep technology awareness. - Source, evaluate, and execute investment opportunities across AI, DeepTech, SaaS, Enterprise Software, Robotics, Semiconductors, ClimateTech, and other emerging technology domains
- Conduct comprehensive market research, commercial analysis, and investment due diligence to assess startup potential and risk-return profiles
- Develop and refine investment theses based on emerging technology trends and evolving market dynamics
- Build and maintain strong relationships with founders, startup ecosystems, accelerators, angel investors, and venture partners
- Prepare investment recommendations and support decision-making processes for new deals and follow-on investments
- Work closely with portfolio companies to support fundraising, go-to-market strategy, hiring, operational scaling, and business growth initiatives
- Represent the firm at industry events, venture capital forums, startup showcases, and ecosystem gatherings
- Continuously identify new market opportunities and innovation trends across global and emerging technology landscapes
- Contribute to portfolio strategy, value creation initiatives, and long-term investment planning
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in venture capital, private equity, growth equity, startup investing, or operator-investor roles
- Strong exposure to AI, DeepTech, SaaS, Enterprise Software, Robotics, Semiconductors, or other advanced technology sectors
- Proven experience evaluating startups and working directly with founders in investment or advisory contexts
- Demonstrated expertise in deal sourcing, investment analysis, due diligence, and portfolio management
- Strong analytical and financial evaluation skills combined with sound commercial judgment
- Established network within the startup and venture capital ecosystem is highly desirable
- Ability to identify high-potential companies and assess scalable business models in early and growth-stage environments
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills across founders and investment stakeholders
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-ambiguity environment
- Strong conviction-based decision-making balanced with rigorous analytical thinking
