About the Role:
The Tooling Administrative Assistant plays a critical role in supporting the manufacturing operations by managing and coordinating all administrative tasks related to tooling and equipment. This position ensures that tooling documentation, inventory, and maintenance schedules are accurately maintained and communicated to relevant departments. The role involves close collaboration with engineering, production, and procurement teams to facilitate smooth tooling operations and minimize downtime. The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking tooling orders, managing vendor communications, and assisting in the preparation of reports and presentations. Ultimately, this role contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the manufacturing process by providing essential administrative support and ensuring tooling resources are optimally managed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
- Proven experience in an administrative role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working specifically with tooling or manufacturing equipment documentation.
- Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems or manufacturing execution systems (MES).
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and tooling requirements.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Prior experience coordinating with vendors and managing purchase orders.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update tooling inventory records, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
- Coordinate tooling orders and deliveries with vendors and internal departments to meet production schedules.
- Prepare and manage documentation related to tooling specifications, maintenance logs, and compliance requirements.
- Assist in scheduling and tracking tooling maintenance and repairs to minimize production disruptions.
- Support the tooling team by organizing meetings, preparing reports, and managing correspondence.
- Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to facilitate tooling acquisition and modifications.
- Monitor tooling usage and provide data analysis to support continuous improvement initiatives.
