Job Description
TITLE: Advanced Practice Professional – MH&W
DEPARTMENT: Healthcare Practices
STATUS: Full Time: 40 hours per week
HOURS: Day shift. Participates in a scheduled telephone on call rotation with other primary care providers, with call responsibilities assigned approximately every 8–12 weeks. Hours may be adjusted in response to workload demands.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Collaborating/Supervising Physician, with limited supervision and broad general direction, the Advanced Practice Professional provides clinical services for patients of all ages in the primary care setting. The care provided is comprehensive in scope and includes the overall coordination of the care of the patient’s health problems, including biological, behavioral, or social. The position requires compliance with applicable Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations, Health System policies and procedures, protocols, and Collaborating/Supervising Physician protocols (when applicable) and Clinic policies and procedures. The position requires compliance with acceptable principles, standards and ethics of the national, state, and local associations that apply to and govern the licensed professional, hospital regulatory agency requirements and applicable clinic regulatory agency requirements. When applicable, the position also requires compliance with additional guidelines as set forth in the contract.
Qualifications/Position Requirements:
- Graduate of Formal Advanced program as a Physician Assistant, Clinical Nurse Specialist, or Nurse Practitioner.
- Certification by nationally recognized organization for applicable Advanced Practice Profession.
- Current and valid license to practice in Michigan.
- DEA License
- DOT certification
- Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) experience/education or willingness to obtain and treat.
- Ability to adapt to change and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrates the ability to establish good working relationships and effective communication with peers, patients, families, and other support health system personnel.
- Demonstrates the ability to function in a leadership position by serving as a resource person, assuming leadership role in emergency/crisis situation and delegating specific tasks to personnel as indicated.
- Supports and contributes to the total hospital system by maintaining a hospital-wide perspective and serving on department/hospital committees.
- Influences the direction of Hospital performance by maintaining a positive perspective/attitude.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate in speech, writing and reading the English language.
- Demonstrates administrative and technical skills essential to the job.
- Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple tasks in a stressful situation while maintaining composure and excellence.
- Demonstrates maturity and emotional stability.
- Demonstrates knowledge of current trends and changes in health care, medicine and specialty.
