SUMMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Atalco Gramercy, LLC is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Training Specialist to develop, deliver, and sustain a high-quality training program for onsite Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) new miners and experienced miners’ requirements. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a safe, compliant, and skilled operations environment.

The Training Specialist will serve as the subject matter expert for MSHA Parts 46 and/or 48, designing and facilitating training for employees, contractors, and site personnel on hazard recognition, emergency response, and safe mining practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA)

· Conduct new miner, annual refresher, and task-specific training in accordance with MSHA regulations.

· Develop engaging training materials, including presentations, manuals, assessments, and hands-on exercises.

· Maintain accurate training records, certificates, and documentation required by MSHA.

· Evaluate training effectiveness and adjust content to improve comprehension and retention.

· Stay current on MSHA regulatory updates, industry trends, and emerging safety practices.

· Perform site visits to assess hazards, observe work practices, and incorporate real-world examples into training.

· Collaborate with safety managers, supervisors, and leadership to identify training needs and compliance gaps.

· Support incident investigations by providing insight into training-related factors and corrective actions.

· Promote a strong safety culture through coaching, communication, and positive engagement.

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS

PRE-EMPLOYMENT:

· Must successfully complete Atalco Gramercy’s required drug screening and physical examination.

· TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) required prior to offer acceptance; MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) training to be completed upon hire.

ON THE JOB:

· Computer: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Internet Explorer, and other general-purpose and industry-specific software specifically Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Human Resources Integrated Systems (HRIS) such as Paylocity and EHS Insights.

· Organization: Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be proactive, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

· Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated ability to identify key stakeholders, understand their needs and expectations, communicate effectively, and maintain strong, trust-based relationships that support successful project outcomes and organizational goals.

· Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver presentations and facilitate discussions with diverse audiences including leadership, technical teams, and non-technical staff.

· Teamwork: Collaborative team player who actively shares knowledge and supports others.

· Expertise: Strong knowledge of MSHA regulations, hazard recognition, and risk management principles.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Business, Health & Safety, Instructional Design, Communications preferred or PTEC/Associates Degree in related field

· Relevant 5+ years' experience in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Talent Management

· Experience in industrial, manufacturing, energy, or safety-critical environments

· Must be eligible to work in the US

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret information. Ability to write reports and basics business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, clients, customers and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
