Medical Records Coordinator/Scheduler in Smyrna, Georgia at Delmar Gardens of Smyrna

We are searching for the perfect candidate to oversee our electronic medical records at Delmar Gardens of Smyrna. The candidate must have strong organizational and office technology skills, be proficient in medical terminology and be able to navigate efficiently through electronic medical records (EMR - EHR). Familiarity with MatrixCare a plus. Knowledge of HIPPA and patient confidentiality laws and practice a must.

Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Prepares resident charts by gathering information and documents from residents and/or resident representatives, physicians and other healthcare providers
• Ensures clinical medical records are organized, accurate and complete
• Creates digital copies of paperwork and stores in the records electronically
• Schedule and maintain appropriate staffing
• Files paperwork and reports of residents quickly and accurately
• Safeguards resident records and ensuring that others comply with the HIPAA standards
• Processes records for admitting residents
• Prepares documents for approved requests
• Ensures that Physician orders, telephone orders and other records requiring signatures are received and filed within the required time frames
• Reviews charts for compliance
• Closes files for discharged residents after completing audit per policy
• Assists with admissions, concierge desk and other tasks as requested by Administrator and/or Director of Nursing
