About the role
Reporting directly to the Head Track and Field Coach, you'll join a healthy, collaborative team dynamic alongside other coaches and colleagues across campus. Your primary athletic focus will be leading and developing our horizontal jumps program. Unique to this role, you'll also serve an auxiliary function for the broader athletic department by overseeing the daily operations, programming, and student staffing of the Student Recreation Center (SRC).
In this role, you do more than just develop athletic talent; you play a vital part in Bethel’s mission to educate and equip students in a Christ-centered community. As a member of our coaching staff, you serve as a minister of the gospel by mentoring student-athletes to grow whole and holy—spiritually, academically, and athletically.
Typically, days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with the expectation to work specific schedules and hours as identified and communicated by management. Frequent evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This is a 40 hour per week, 12 months per year position.
While standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, this role requires flexibility for evening and weekend work, especially during the peak season of January through May
Salary Range: $46,700 - $47,174
What you'll do
Additional Athletic Department Responsibilities - 40%Oversee the daily operations and programming of the Student Recreation Center (SRC), ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for students and other users.Collaborate with campus partners to support wellness initiatives and recreational programming.Assist with other departmental needs and responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director.Player Recruitment - 20%Identify, evaluate and recruit student athletes that are excellent athletically, academically and personally.Assist the head coach to maintain identified roster sizes. Program Management – 20% Assist the Head coach with practice planning, organization and implementation.Assist the head coach with game preparation and implementation.Assist the head coach to align with MIAC and NCAA policies.Assist the head coach with all program logistics.Player Development - 20%Assist the head coach with player development athletically, spiritually and academically.Qualifications
Required Education
Bachelor’s degreePreferred Education
Master’s degreeRequired Experience
1+ years of experience coaching Track and Field at the NCAA Level OR3+ years of experience coaching Track and Field at the High School LevelPreferred Experience
3+ years of experience coaching Track and Field at the NCAA Level ORexperience as a highly competitive student-athlete
