Accountabilities:

  • Conduct cost of service studies, revenue requirement analyses, depreciation studies, and related financial assessments.
  • Develop, review, and update tariffs to ensure alignment with applicable regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to assess regulatory compliance risks and identify strategic recommendations for clients.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards including FERC requirements, USoA guidelines, and other applicable utility accounting frameworks.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, managing relationships and providing guidance on complex regulatory matters.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support engagement delivery, project execution, and overall client satisfaction.
  • Contribute to business growth by supporting engagement planning, execution quality, and advisory excellence.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or Juris Doctor from an accredited institution.
  • 4+ years of experience in regulatory consulting, utility accounting, public utility regulation, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of FERC regulations, Uniform System of Accounts (USoA), and rate-regulated utility reporting requirements.
  • Experience with rate design, cost of service studies, and regulatory filings.
  • Strong analytical, research, and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to manage projects independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings and influence stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with utility regulatory environments; Alaska regulatory experience is a plus but not required.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range of $120,000 – $140,000 USD, plus discretionary bonus eligibility.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Life and disability insurance programs.
  • Health Savings Account contributions and flexible spending accounts.
  • 401(k) plan with employer match and profit-sharing contributions.
  • Paid time off including vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays.
  • Paid parental leave and volunteer time off.
  • Sabbatical program and long-term employee development benefits.
  • Flexible remote or office-based work options depending on location.
