Campus Ministry Coordinator
Job Type: Part-time
Position Title: Campus Ministry Coordinator
Location: Missouri Western State University, St. Joseph, MO
Status: Non-exempt, part-time 20 hours/week average
The Campus Ministry Coordinator works with the Associate Director of Domestic Church & Discipleship to plan and facilitate ministry efforts in union with the Campus Chaplain. This person serves as a point person for on-site needs, develops and guides student leadership, and promotes a culture of missionary discipleship for the Newman Center and Campus Ministry evangelization efforts on campus. All efforts must be rooted and surrounded in prayer and discernment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate operations, events, activities, and student involvement; be a missionary disciple and bridge builder between parishes, campus and ministries.
- Promote and encourage student involvement in parish life and community events. Coordinate and connect student volunteers with the supporting parishes and ministries.
- Cultivate volunteers from the parishes that will help support local campus ministry needs. Examples: meal prep, donation drives, fundraising efforts, ministry coordinators.
- Maintain the student organization status on campus and work with Catholic students and faculty to extend invitations to the Newman Center.
- Be present and visible at school Orientation, Organizational Fairs, and large campus events to reach and connect with students and faculty.
- Work with the Associate Director to plan and facilitate student leadership planning and training retreats, develop and maintain the Newman Center schedule, website, social media outlets, email list, registrations, promotional materials, and records.
- Coordinate Small Groups and facilitate small group leadership training.

- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and pursue quality in accomplishing tasks.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in Campus ministry or related field preferred.
- Undergraduate degree in related field is preferred.
- Intermediate skills in Windows, Microsoft Office, publishing and development software, and online website updating.
- Practicing Catholic with ethical standards, personal integrity, and conduct consistent with the morals and teachings of the Catholic Church.
