Job Description

Product Manager - Financial Operations

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Manager - Financial Operations based in Finland.

This role sits at the core of a global payments infrastructure, focused on building and evolving the systems that help merchants understand, control, and optimize financial operations at scale. You will own a defined product sub-area within Financial Operations, shaping how complex workflows such as reconciliation, disputes, FX, and settlements are managed across a global platform. The role combines strategic ownership with deep operational detail, requiring you to translate messy financial and merchant signals into clear product direction. You will work closely with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams in a highly collaborative, remote-first environment. Your decisions will directly impact how merchants move and reconcile money across markets and currencies. This is a high-ownership role where clarity, precision, and accountability are essential.

Accountabilities:
  • Own a dedicated sub-area of the Financial Operations product, defining its vision, roadmap, and outcomes across multiple quarters.
  • Identify and frame the most important problems to solve by synthesizing merchant feedback, support data, operational issues, and system constraints.
  • Define and prioritize initiatives independently, making informed trade-offs between scope, quality, technical debt, and delivery timelines.
  • Write clear, detailed product specifications that account for complex edge cases such as reconciliation breaks, dispute flows, and FX scenarios.
  • Partner closely with engineering teams to evaluate feasibility, technical trade-offs, and define success metrics (leading and lagging indicators).
  • Drive end-to-end product delivery, including launch readiness, stakeholder alignment, and post-launch iteration based on data and feedback.
  • Represent your product area internally and externally, translating operational complexity into clear product decisions and narratives.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience owning a product area or significant feature set end-to-end, with measurable impact on business or customer outcomes.
  • Strong ability to independently define problems from ambiguous or incomplete inputs without relying on fully structured briefs.
  • Demonstrated experience making autonomous trade-offs across scope, quality, and technical complexity.
  • Solid technical fluency, enabling effective collaboration with engineering teams on architecture, feasibility, and integration decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to align cross-functional teams and surface risks early.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to use data to define, track, and evaluate product success metrics.
  • Nice to have: experience in payments, fintech, or financial operations domains such as reconciliation, disputes, ledgers, treasury, or FX.
Benefits:
  • Fully remote and globally distributed work environment
  • Competitive compensation and equity/share options
  • Unlimited vacation with a minimum of 25 days encouraged
  • Private medical insurance (location dependent)
  • Co-working space access and global workation opportunities
  • Annual company retreats and in-person gatherings
  • Learning and development budget to support continuous growth
  • Home office setup support and high-quality equipment provided
  • Broad additional perks depending on location
