About the Role:
The APAC Director of Events will oversee all aspects of event development and execution across the region, leading cross-functional collaboration with editorial, commercial, marketing, creative and production teams to create impactful member, audience and client experiences. The role will also drive operational excellence, scalable event solutions and innovation in live, hybrid and digital event formats.
This position requires a strategic, solutions-oriented leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, understands the nuances of the APAC market landscape and can confidently lead high-profile events from concept through execution.
About the Team:
Be part of the team responsible for designing and producing first-class live events and experiences for Dow Jones, The Wall Street Journal and WSJ Barron's Group. The Dow Jones events team produces more than 250 events annually across the globe. These events span virtual, in-person and hybrid formats of all shapes and sizes, bringing our brands and custom experiences to life for our members, audiences and clients. At the heart of what we do is live journalism - connecting audiences with newsmakers and big ideas through ambitious, world-class experiences.
As a senior member of the Events Leadership Team, the APAC Director of Events will lead the strategy, planning and execution of the region's event portfolio across Asia Pacific, while contributing to global event initiatives and standards. This role requires a highly experienced events leader with deep regional expertise, exceptional production knowledge and a proven ability to deliver premium experiences at scale across diverse markets.

You Will
- Lead the APAC events strategy and regional event portfolio, ensuring alignment with Dow Jones brand, editorial and commercial objectives
- Serve as the senior event lead and executive producer for flagship and high-priority events across the region
- Provide leadership, mentorship and direction to regional event team members, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture
- Translate editorial, audience and client objectives into compelling event concepts, creative strategies and premium attendee experiences
- Partner closely with Integrated Marketing, Sales and Editorial teams on event ideation, sponsorship integration and audience engagement strategies
- Drive innovation and elevate the standard of event experiences across APAC, with a focus on world-class content, production and hospitality
- Oversee all logistical, operational and production requirements for events, ensuring flawless execution, budget management and delivery against objectives
- Identify and develop strategic vendor, production and platform partnerships across the region
- Lead cross-functional collaboration between internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure seamless execution and communication
- Establish and champion scalable event processes, production standards and operational efficiencies across the APAC region
- Maintain oversight of key event documentation including production timelines, budgets, show flows, creative direction and post-event reporting
- Ensure strong integration between live and digital event experiences, with a deep understanding of technical production, streaming and audience engagement
- Stay ahead of regional and global event trends, identifying opportunities for innovation, growth and enhanced attendee and sponsor experiences
- Act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to business leaders across Dow Jones brands and functions
- Lead onsite event execution with confidence, professionalism and attention to detail, ensuring teams and vendors are operating at the highest level
- Contribute to global events initiatives and collaborate with international teams on marquee experiences and shared best practices
You Have
- 12-15 years of experience leading and producing high-profile events, experiences and productions across live, hybrid and virtual formats
- Proven leadership and people management experience, including building and developing high-performing teams
- Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on production and operational expertise
- Excellent understanding of technical production, digital event platforms and hybrid audience engagement
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex budgets, multiple stakeholders and competing priorities across multiple markets
- Strong commercial acumen and experience supporting sponsorship and client-driven event initiatives
- Exceptional communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills
- Calm, solutions-oriented and adaptable under pressure, with the ability to pivot quickly when required
- Highly collaborative and team-oriented, with a strong commitment to excellence in execution
- Willingness and flexibility to travel across APAC and internationally as required and ability to adapt to conflicting time zones as needed
- Strong understanding of cultural nuances and business practices across Asia Pacific markets
