Description:

Reporting to the Warehouse Lead or Logistics Manager, the Shipping Associate has primary responsibility for all functions and paperwork relating to pulling, packing, and shipping material out of the distribution facility to customers, vendors, and other NEFCO distribution centers. This position plays a key role in maximizing sales potential through accurate order fulfillment, safe warehouse practices, and efficient shipping procedures. Key Responsibilities
  • Pick, pull, pack, stage, and prepare customer orders for shipment accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify actual products received and shipped against items listed in RF technology and ERP systems.
  • Operate warehouse equipment and machinery including forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and sorting bins safely and effectively.
  • Load and unload outbound and inbound trucks while maintaining product integrity and warehouse organization.
  • Ensure all shipments are processed in accordance with company procedures, customer requirements, and carrier specifications.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and handheld scanning devices to track inventory and shipments.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Communicate consistently and effectively with management, branch personnel, customer service, purchasing, and transportation teams regarding shipping issues, delays, or operational needs.
  • Confirm product integrity and ensure all products are labeled correctly and loaded onto the appropriate outbound trucks.
  • Meet daily productivity, accuracy, and performance expectations while supporting overall warehouse efficiency.
  • Support additional warehouse and operational responsibilities as needed.

Requirements: Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1+ years of warehouse, shipping, logistics, or distribution experience preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Basic computer and scanning device proficiency.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and move products up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
Schedule & Work Environment
  • Full-time position with overtime opportunities based on business needs.
  • Warehouse/distribution center environment.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours during peak periods may be required.
