Registered Nurse - Cancer Center Chemo at Cookeville Regional Medical Center – Cookeville, Tennessee

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process within an assigned unit; assesses, treats and care for patients demonstrating an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process; coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Oversees the work of other professional and non-professional personnel.

Education:

Associates or Bachelors of Nursing required

Certification/Licensures:

Registered Nurse required

Experience:

1 to 3 years preferred.

Cancer Center

• Oncology certification preferred (RN Only)
• Two years experience in acute care nursing with minimum one year experience in oncology preferred.
• Knowledge of oncology treatments and side effect management preferred.
• BLS within 3 months of hire.
• Daily use of a non-waived analytical instrument (CBC Analyzer). Testing personnel must meet the regulatory requirements for assessment of competency within 3 years of hire.
• Medical Oncology RN only - ONS/ONCC Immunotherapy/Chemotherapy Certification Course required within 1 year of hire.
• Medical Oncology LPN ONLY works under supervision of ONS/ONCC Immunotherapy/Chemotherapy certified RN
