Cloud Native Database Engineer at CloudRaft – India

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and optimize databases such as PostgreSQL in cloud native environments for high-performance querying and analytics.
• Participate in maintenance of CloudNativePG project - Kubernetes operator for Postgres
• Collaborate with engineering teams in integration and support
• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance, availability, and Kubernetes issues related to deployments
• Contribute to data modeling and schema design to optimize performance and usability.
• Develop and maintain documentation, run-books and RCAs
• Good understanding of Observability - Grafana, Prometheus stack
• Participate in on-call roster

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 0-5 years of hands-on experience in Kubernetes, PostgreSQL and open source.
• Strong expertise in relational databases, particularly Postgres and cloud native environment
• Understanding of Postgres ecosystem - Disaster replication, Postgres Extensions, Barman, Pgbouncer
• Proven ability to handle production incidents and optimize database performance
• Experience in scripting and automation for data pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of automation and orchestration tools like Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with distributed systems and scalable architecture.
• Strong programming skills in Go, Rust or similar languages.
