Position Requirements:
What You'll Do
- Process weekly payroll accurately and on time for all company employees.
- Review and verify employee timesheets, hours worked, overtime, and payroll adjustments.
- Manage federal, state, and multi-state payroll tax processing, filings, and compliance requirements.
- Prepare and maintain payroll tax reports and ensure timely payment of all payroll tax liabilities.
- Process employee reimbursements and verify supporting documentation in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee payroll files for reporting, auditing, and compliance purposes.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and payroll-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, labor laws, and company policies.
- Assist with internal and external payroll audits by providing documentation and payroll records as needed.
- Generate payroll reports and support management with payroll-related data and analysis.
- Collaborate with Human Resources, Accounting, and Operations teams to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, efficiency, and reporting capabilities.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience required.
- Experience processing multi-state payroll and payroll tax filings preferred.
- Experience in construction, HVAC, mechanical contracting, or similar industries is a plus.
- Proficiency with payroll software systems; experience with Vista by Viewpoint is highly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, and payroll tax compliance.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information professionally.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills when interacting with employees, management, and external agencies.
