This role sits at the intersection of technical expertise, customer engagement, and process optimization within the pulp and paper industry. It focuses on supporting industrial customers in the safe, efficient, and effective use of chemical solutions used in bleaching and production processes. The position plays a key role in strengthening long-term client relationships by delivering on-site technical audits, data-driven recommendations, and operational improvements. It requires close collaboration with sales, operations, and internal technical teams to resolve complex production challenges and identify new value-creation opportunities. The environment is highly customer-facing and field-oriented, combining hands-on site work with strategic analysis and reporting. This is an impactful role for a technically strong professional who enjoys solving real-world industrial process challenges while influencing customer performance and safety outcomes.
- Design and execute customer engagement strategies, including on-site audits of chlorate and pulp & paper processes to ensure safe, efficient product usage and compliance with best practices
- Serve as the primary technical advisor for customers, responding to operational issues, product inquiries, and performance-related challenges
- Analyze customer operational data and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations and technical reports
- Lead and coordinate customer trials, site visits, and first deliveries while ensuring adherence to safety and Responsible Care® standards
- Provide technical training and guidance to customer operators and engineers on product handling, storage, environmental safety, and application methods
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, proactively addressing issues and ensuring high levels of satisfaction and service quality
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to support existing business, identify growth opportunities, and execute customer-focused initiatives
- Identify value creation opportunities by understanding cost drivers and operational constraints within customer processes
- Manage and support the resolution of off-spec product situations, including technical evaluation and customer coordination
- Maintain industry benchmarking insights and contribute to continuous improvement across customer operations
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field
- 5–10 years of experience in technical service, process engineering, or sales within the pulp & paper industry
- Strong expertise in chlorate bleaching processes and industrial chemical applications
- Proven ability to analyze complex industrial data and translate insights into practical operational recommendations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong customer-facing experience with the ability to build trust and long-term partnerships
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple field-based projects and priorities
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and solution-oriented mindset
- Commercial awareness with a focus on customer value creation and operational efficiency
- Willingness to travel 25–40% to customer sites across the region
